Every 7th couple faces Infertility Problems: Dr Shivani Gour

Gwalior, City, News/ no 1
Today every 7th couple is facing the problem of infertility. Reproductive capacity in women can be influenced by various health problems like Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCO), Endometriosis, Pelvic Inflammatory Disease, and Fibroid in the Uterus, Anaemia, Thyroid Problems, Blocked Fallopian Tubes, Candida and Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) etc. Similarly, heavy drinking, smoking, age (more than 35 years), obesity, high stress, irregular and painful periods, malnutrition or intense physical training influences the reproductive capability of women.

Delhi based IVF specialist Dr Shivani Sachdev Gour, present in the CME as chief speaker, organized by the Gwalior Obstetric & Gynaecological Society regarding Infertility said this. She said infertility is being treated by the most advanced techniques like IUI, IVF and Surrogacy. Dr Shivani said that women have been successful in getting babies either by IVF or through a surrogate mother. But every woman cannot avail this technique as it is expensive and out of reach for many. Plus its rules and regulations are very strict. New bill of surrogacy will make impossible for ordinary people to avail surrogacy as only close relatives will be allowed to be a surrogate mother. This is the only way forward and nucleus families will face difficulty. We might come to a situation that for treatment of joint pains also there won’t be any alternative in India and the patient will have to travel to USA, Ukraine or Kenya. Due to this every year only 5 to 6 thousand can become surrogates. Before this, Dr Kusum lata Singhal, the President of the society highlighted the scheduled topic. Dr Kirti Ghore moderated and Dr Veera Lohia gave vote of thanks. The chairperson of the event Dr Jyoti Bindal, Dr Meena Mundra and Dr Pratistha Dalmia were also present. Reputed Gynecologists of the city like Dr Roza Olyai, Dr Ratna Kaul, Dr Gayatri Nagori, Dr Preeti Gupta, Dr Rita Mishra, Dr Yashodhara Gaur, Dr Archana Maurya attended the event. SOURCE

First Workshop for Couples Expecting Baby by Surrogacy

First workshop for couples expecting baby by surrogacy on how to breast feed the baby by inducing lactation. We successful close to 40 participants. Despite heavy rains everyone made it and so keen and motivated to get started!! Thanks to hard work in organising this by LalitVerma Jyoti Prince Ruth Malik from Australia.....UdayMedala

Dr Ritu Santwani thank you for introducing me to this team in your wonderful CME in Pune.
Can even be started after baby is born. Medications include ocpillperinorm...and just herbs like methi seeds. Depends on what stage of pregnancy. For surrogacy always do this after 28 weeks...Viability of baby. Be v sensitive in presentation as these couples have been through a lot of hardships and heartbreak. 2 stories are very good. Einstein breast feed for almost 5 to 6 yrs; milk important for brain development due to higher fat content than cow’s milk etc. Other story is of tsunami in Thailand...father stranded on a tree with a hungry baby...mother missing...father started lactating...breast milk ...as no one around to provide any feed to baby. It's just an amazing story.
